CLAIMS SPECIALIST

Job description summary:
The purpose of this position is to ensure that all aspects of the medical billing process are performed accurately and in a timely manner.

Job functions include:
- Maintain insurance accounts receivable
-Processes all insurance payments, zero pay vouchers, and contractual adjustments as necessary to ensure appropriate reimbursement of accounts

-Accurately apply collection debt payments on appropriate accounts

-Maintains accurate documents and reports following established procedures and policies

Requirements
-High School Diploma required
-At least 2 years experience in a health care billing environment
-Exceptional typing/data entry skills
-Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9 coding from a reimbursement perspective
-Familiar with explanation of benefits and payment posting
-Familiar with all types of insurance
-Must have good math skills
-Knowledge of Excel and Word

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with flexibility for staying later or coming in earlier if needed

MEDICAL CODER

The medical coder must have current AAPC certification and at least 2 years of medical coding experience. Orthopedic coding experience is preferred, but not required.

PATIENT ACCOUNT REP

This full-time position requires the following:

* at least 2 years of patient account experience


* Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact well with patients


Responsible for collecting money from patients, registering patients in our computer database, speaking to patients about their insurance and financial obligations. Also responsible for verifying insurance coverage via the telephone and internet.

Work Schedule – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday- 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
