    About the Role: The Phone Room Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient triaging of patient needs. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming and professional experience when patients call Southern Bone and Joint, P.A. The receptionist handles appointment scheduling, directs patients to the appropriate staff and/or department, and answers general inquiries. The role requires effective communication and organizational skills. Additionally, the receptionist maintains documentation of phone calls in patient records while managing phone calls with a courteous and empathetic approach. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to the overall patient experience and operational efficiency of the clinic.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Previous experience with a telephone system and reception position, preferably in a healthcare or clinical setting.
    • Basic proficiency with computer systems and electronic health record (EHR) software.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and other healthcare privacy regulations.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with medical terminology related to physical therapy and rehabilitation services.
    • Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

    Responsibilities:
